And the 2009 Club Champion is .......
C Grade Championship
Young up and coming Junior Sean Bingham defeated long time experienced golfer Kerry Hodson after a very close battle which came down to the last putts on the 18th green.
B Grade Championship
Newcomer Phil Lowe and long time gailes member Malcolm Bamford played the B Grade final with Phil taking the championship from Malcolm in a very close match.
A Grade Championship
The Club Championship was played over a 36 hole final between David Hamilton and Junior member - Ben Synak. Ben was nicknamed the "Giant killer" after defeating last years Club Champion and State player, Daniel McGraw in the quarter final. The final was a display of amazing golf with David Hamilton turning on a string of birdies on many occasions. In the end, David with his experience, shone through to defeat the young Ben Synak. David Hamilton has become one of Gailes' most experienced players over the last 10 years having won many championship events. Keep an eye on young Ben Synak for the future.

Congratulations
Gailes Golf Club Wins the Senior Club Teams Challenge
The Gailes Senior Team defeated Caboolture in the final of the Club Teams Championship on Thursday the 20th of August 2009.
Our talented Gailes team won their division after being undefeated for the season. Gailes played Royal Queensland in the final and then went on to beat Caboolture in the Grand Final. Well done everyone and the team says they have enjoyed playing against the other Club teams this year and that the competition has been great.
